Singapore Education is a multi-government agency initiative launched by the Singapore Government in 2003 to establish and promote Singapore as a premier education hub and help international students make an informed decision on studying in Singapore. This initiative is led by the Singapore Economic Development Board and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, SPRING Singapore, International Enterprise Singapore and the Ministry of Education. The following describes the key roles that each agency plays in the arena of Singapore Education.
Reason to study in Singapore?
- Safe, Vibrant and Cosmopolitan city.
Singapore is a garden city, widely touted as “the world’s most liveable city”. Singapore has strict laws and low crime rates; it is a law-abiding and safe country.
- High employability
Singapore’s economy is rapidly growing, with an increasing trend in manpower needs. However, due to Singapore’s small population, it has difficulty in meeting these needs. This creates an ideal condition for graduating foreign students to remain in Singapore to seek further employment.
- Haven for English Language learning
Singapore’s official language is English; this provides non-English speaking students a conducive environment to learn and improve their English.
- Ease of study approval
Students wishing to come to Singapore to study have only to come to Singapore to apply for a Student Pass, without having to travel to the Singapore Embassy for an interview. This simplified process also has a higher approval rate as compared to Europe and America.
